The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service arrested several people for various offences over the last three days during anti-crime exercises across different divisions. Two firearms and ammunition were also seized by officers.
According to the TTPS, a Glock pistol loaded with two rounds of ammunition was found in Brasso Seco. Meanwhile, officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force found one pistol containing 17 rounds of ammunition at St. Paul Street, Port of Spain. IATF officers also recovered a vehicle which was previously reported stolen and arrested one suspect in connection with the incident.
In another exercise, this time in the Southern Division, officers arrested two men in connection with a robbery. In the Central Division, a 36-year-old Couva man was arrested by officers of the Central Division Gang Unit in connection with robberies in Freeport.
And, in the South-Western Division, seven persons were arrested for various offences including trafficking in marijuana, use of obscene language and robbery during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Siparia.
