A Jamaican couple living in Pennsylvania in the United States admitted on Tuesday to ripping off elderly persons in a lottery scam.
U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon imposed a term of time served on 22 year old Ashani Levy after he pleaded guilty to money structuring in connection with the scam.

He was in the U.S. on a tourist visa and has served about three months in jail.
Levy will be turned over to immigration authorities for deportation. His wife, Ekeyma Harris, a U.S. citizen, pleaded guilty to mail theft. Her sentence is pending.

According to the Pittsburg Post Gazette newspaper, the couple was involved in a lottery phone scam designed to trick senior citizens into sending them money

U.S. Postal Inspectors found that 15 packages had been sent to the location since June last year
